1. Policy Statement
TiC Heating Solutions Ltd. is committed to ensuring the safety of its employees, clients, contractors, and anyone affected by its operations. Fire safety is a critical aspect of our health and safety management arrangements.
We recognise our duties as a Responsible Person under applicable UK fire safety legislation and are committed to identifying, assessing, and controlling fire risks through proportionate, risk-based measures. We will take all reasonably practicable steps to prevent fires and to minimise the risk of injury or damage should a fire occur.
2. Scope
This policy applies to all employees, contractors, agency workers, and visitors engaged in or affected by TiC Heating Solutions Ltd.’s activities.
It covers all company-controlled premises, temporary workplaces, vehicles, and client sites where our work activities may introduce fire risk, across England, Scotland, and Wales.
3. Fire Safety Objectives
• Compliance – Achieve and maintain compliance with applicable fire safety legislation across England, Scotland, and Wales.
• Prevention – Identify, assess, and reduce fire risks arising from premises, work activities, equipment, vehicles, and materials.
• Competence – Ensure those with fire safety responsibilities are competent through appropriate training and experience.
• Awareness – Promote fire safety awareness through training, signage, toolbox talks, and regular communication.
• Preparedness – Maintain effective fire detection, warning, firefighting, and evacuation arrangements.
• Continuous Improvement – Review fire safety arrangements regularly to reflect operational changes, incidents, and evolving best practice.
4. Legal Framework
This policy aligns with, but is not limited to, the following legislation and guidance:
• Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 (England and Wales)
• Fire Safety Act 2021
• Fire Safety (England) Regulations 2022
• Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 and Associated Regulations

5. Responsibilities
Directors and Senior Management
• Act as, or appoint, the Responsible Person(s) for fire safety where required.
• Ensure suitable and sufficient fire risk assessments are undertaken and reviewed.
• Allocate adequate resources for fire safety controls, training, and maintenance.
• Ensure cooperation and coordination with landlords, managing agents, and clients where shared premises are involved.
• Ensure emergency procedures are documented, communicated, and tested.
Employees and Contractors
• Follow fire safety procedures and instructions.
• Use equipment, tools, and materials safely to minimise fire risk.
• Report fire hazards, defects, or near-miss incidents promptly.
• Participate in fire safety training and drills as required.
6. Fire Risk Assessment
TiC Heating Solutions Ltd. will ensure that suitable and sufficient Fire Risk Assessments are carried out by competent persons for all relevant premises and work activities.
Fire Risk Assessments will:
• Identify fire hazards, including ignition sources, fuels, and oxygen sources.
• Identify persons at risk, including employees, contractors, clients, and members of the public.
• Evaluate existing fire safety controls and identify any additional measures required.
• Be documented, implemented, and communicated where necessary.
• Be reviewed at least annually or following significant changes, incidents, or near misses.
7. Fire Safety Measures
Training and Awareness
• Employees will receive fire safety training at induction and refresher training at appropriate intervals, based on role and risk.
• Contractors will receive site-specific fire safety information prior to commencing work.
Fire Detection and Equipment
• Appropriate fire detection, warning systems, and firefighting equipment will be provided based on risk assessment findings.
• Fire safety equipment will be inspected, tested, and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidance and legal requirements.
Emergency Procedures
• Emergency and evacuation procedures will be documented and communicated to relevant persons.
• Fire drills will be carried out where appropriate to the premises and level of risk.
• Fire exits, routes, and signage will be kept clear, visible, and unobstructed at all times.
Heating System Safety
• Heating systems will be installed, maintained, and serviced in accordance with statutory requirements and manufacturer instructions to minimise fire risk.
• Particular attention will be given to ignition sources, ventilation, and safe isolation of systems during works.
8. Monitoring and Review
This Fire Safety Policy will be reviewed:
• At least annually.
• Following any fire-related incident, near miss, or enforcement action.
• Following significant changes to operations, premises, or legislation.
Lessons learned from incidents, audits, and feedback will be used to improve fire safety arrangements.
